Model Lab Classrooms
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding leadership of our teachers—Mareena Crozier, Elissa Brost, Brooke Powell, Adita Karges, Crystal Julien, Linda Schleifer, Andrea Swanson, and Bonnie Martinez—as leaders of our Model Lab Classrooms at Queen Palmer Elementary.
A Model Lab Classroom is one that opens its doors to colleagues so they can observe high-impact instruction in action. These classrooms demonstrate strong Best First Instruction practices, authentic student agency, and meaningful learning that leads to measurable results. In these environments, students take ownership of their learning, think critically, collaborate effectively, and show strong academic growth.
This year, we were honored to host 16 elementary schools from across the district who spent an entire day visiting Queen Palmer. They observed both our Model Lab and non-Model Lab classrooms—and our staff CRUSHED IT! Across the building, teachers showcased powerful Best First Instruction in action, demonstrating that excellence is not isolated to a few rooms, but embedded in our collective culture.
Being a true Master Teacher means empowering our panda friends to take the lead in their learning while achieving exceptional outcomes. Our Model Lab teachers exemplify this commitment every day.
Looking ahead, our vision is clear: within the next one to two years, Queen Palmer will become a Model Lab School where all teachers consistently demonstrate these high-impact practices. We are incredibly proud of our dedicated staff who continue to learn from one another, refine their craft, and lead with purpose—for ALL panda friends.
